Need advice / tips with a survival situation!?
Coming in a few months (this summer), I intend to try to survive in the mountains of North Carolina for five to seven days. I have a minimum experience of camping / hiking, so I come to you help. Regarding the gear goes I plan to bring: – BackPack – striker to fire – Axis / small knife – Fold-able excavator – rope / chain – Tarp – collapsible pot (they do that?) – Metal rack (such as those on the fence) – MRE packs to be used only in emergencies – Flashlight? Undecided whether I'll put a small tent and a fishing rod, would try to build my own home and want to see if I could get food without cane Fishing. Is there something I left out that may be needed? Some tips for finding food that I should look for? My father suggested crawlfish. Any other tips of hints that you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
There are small light camping / hiking mess that all up a small pot and cover it, usually with Eating implements, the handle folds over and secures the lid on the pot. You should also aid kit first decent. An injury to the wild can be devastating and threaten your chances of survival. If you take a flashlight, take one that is charged by a liquidation or agitation. This way, you not to worry about the batteries go flat, and leave you in the dark. Take a hat and gloves. Sunburn is bad and the chips are bad. Take a good coverage area (as opposed to a tarpaulin). They can be used as a canvas, can be used as a cover and can also be used to distill water by the sun. Instead of MRE, you may want to consider freeze-dried foods, which are lighter and come in a greater variety of entrees. Make sure you take a pair of socks or a plan on washing your socks every night. Ask anyone any experienced hiker and they will tell you to take care of your feet and they go where you go. You would be wise to take a small water filter or tablets purification of water. You may not always be able to burn for heating and purifying water, so a backup plan is always good. If you are going to try to live off the land, then I recommend you take a quick guide to edible wild plants in this part of the country. You can set traps, Small and catch small animals, but be aware of any hunting laws in your area. Even fishing without a license can cause trouble with the local gamekeeper.
