How can I encourage a positive relationship between my big cat and my dog?
I have a six years old tabby cat, a dog almost a year, and another dog about five years. My cat is in agreement with our old dog can tolerate it, but it does not support the puppy. The cat has a brother in the same age, but his brother is suffering from health problems and is not expected to live a full life. This is the main reason I want to help my Cat others become more favorable with the other members of our family, the death of his brother will be the end of the world for him. We have already lost a cat of this year, and I feel terrible the day we lost another one and leave her alone with the two dogs. I will also try to chat while others feel more comfortable around dogs too.
The cat is really adult and the dog is young. This is the biggest problem in terms of why they do not agree – the cat sees the dog as an absolute nuisance. Train your puppy not to chase, or try to "play" with the cat. It's a Thing # You can do so they first learn to tolerate and eventually actually want another. You can not really teach the cat like a dog * * – Some do, some do not. My cat loves dogs as they are still wet – he hates small and too energetic dogs too. Fortunately, cats are very adaptable and independent. For this reason, your cat will adjust to the loss coming when he arrives. It will probably depressed for a few weeks or a month, as we be if we lost a family member. Give him loads of attention and affection During this time, and not punish him if he made some mistakes pot – cats sometimes do during periods of high stress. The dogs will also feel the loss, but probably to a lesser degree. Your cat will be OK given a little time to mourn and heal. He befriends the dogs or not really them, not you, and that is mostly a separate issue – the same way it would be for us if we lose a brother, it would not matter really what other friends that we might have, we still need time to mourn and adjust.
